Chaired by Aparna Subramani, CEO, GRIT, the conference brought together senior leaders from the Department of Pharmaceuticals,Department of Commerce, Government of India Official, regulators, policymakers, and industry stakeholders to discuss India's roadmap towards becoming a global MedTech hub. During the discussion, Sunil Kumar highlighted that: 🔹 Healthcare AI MedTech Park: Gujarat should build Nations First Healthcare AI MedTech Park. 🔹 Domain-Focused Medical Device Parks with defined ROI: Medical Device Parks should not be generic. They must be domain focused - Imaging, Implants, Consumables, Radiation, Diagnostics, Robotics, etc.-with defined outcomes and ROI. 🔹 Global acceptance of CDSCO certification is critical for the success of Made in India devices. 🔹 Need for BIS Standards: BIS standards are missing for many medical devices. Without standards, Indian companies have no benchmark for product validation. 🔹 Harmonization with Global Standards: Adopt globally accepted standards through government partnerships (USA-FDA) or (CE-European Union) to accelerate MedTech growth instead of creating new standards from scratch. 🔹 Indigenous procurement alone is insufficient - trust in India's regulatory ecosystem must be strengthened. 🔹 Idea is cheapest entry in Medical Devices: Medical Device Parks should support innovators with clean regulatory, testing, validation, and commercialization support, without this Indian medtech cant withstand the onslaught of Imports. The discussion reinforced that India's global MedTech leadership will be built on innovation, trusted regulations, quality standards, and strong collaboration between government and industry.
