Toronto-based venture studio AXL has announced its inaugural cohort of Faculty Fellows, bringing together nine University of Toronto professors with experience at organizations such as Nvidia, NASA, Samsung, Intel, and Adobe. The program is designed to strengthen the studio’s ability to translate cutting-edge research into real-world AI applications. AXL’s model focuses on identifying industry problems through corporate partnerships and building startups around academic research. The addition of Faculty Fellows adds deep technical and industry expertise to support ventures as they move from early-stage pilots to scalable solutions.
