01 June 2026 | Message from the Vice-Chancellor on Exams Examinations are an important part of your academic journey. It is an opportunity to continuously assess your understanding and application of knowledge in your chosen discipline. As our 2026 Mid-Year Examinations begin, I wish all our students, especially those writing university examinations for the very first time, every success. While there is a significant difference between high school and University life. The principles of academic excellence and integrity remain the same. I would also like to thank our academic and professional support staff, whose dedication makes this examination season possible. The start of our Mid-Year Examinations coincides with the 2026 Youth Month, which marks the 50th anniversary of the 1976 Soweto Uprising. May this historical milestone serve as a reminder of the role the youth can play in shaping our society for the better. Wishing you strength, clarity, resilience, and success throughout this examination. Warm regards, Prof Thenjiwe Meyiwa UMP Vice-Chancellor & Principal
