Emily received Early Admission offers to study a Bachelor of Nursing and a Bachelor of Social Science at UOW Wollongong, but her goal was always to become a Health and Physical Education teacher. ⛹️‍♀️ Rather than settling for a degree that did not align with her passion, Emily chose an alternative pathway. UOW College’s 14-week University Entrance Program (UEP) gave her the opportunity to pursue the degree she really wanted. Growing up in South-West Sydney, Emily had always seen herself studying at UOW Liverpool. At first, she was concerned that taking the UEP pathway might impact her university experience, but studying through UOW College meant she was still part of the campus community. After successfully completing the program, Emily couldn’t be prouder. Just one week after appendix surgery, she attended her graduation ceremony in a wheelchair. "It’s taught me important skills like problem solving and being part of a team. I want to bring those skills and knowledge into a setting where I can inspire students beyond the classroom." 👏 #ThisIsUOW
