One of WA's most beloved birds is in serious trouble, and UWA researchers are doing something remarkable about it. More than half the Carnaby's Cockatoo population has been lost in 45 years. Professor Kingsley Dixon AO is leading a world-first project to plant more than 200,000 trees south of Mandurah, bringing together Indigenous ecological knowledge, AI technology and community action to protect an irreplaceable species.
