That question is central to a new collaboration between Dr Jodi Sturge of the University of Twente and researchers at Bukovinian State Medical University in Ukraine. The project is supported by NWO funding. The new collaboration focuses on Hospital at Home services: hospital-level care delivered in a patientโ€™s own home. Together, the researchers are studying how older adults in Ukraine receive this care at home during the war. They also want to see what other countries can learn from this. Because when normal care is disrupted, people find new ways to help each other and deliver care. โ€œWe are not producing knowledge about the Ukrainian healthcare system, but producing knowledge together with Ukrainian clinicians,โ€ says Sturge.
