𝐓𝐰𝐨 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐰𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧 𝐄𝐑𝐂 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭 Chris Baeumer and Robert Passier, both from the Faculty of Science and Technology, have each been awarded €150,000 to explore the commercial or societal potential of their research. Chris Baeumer's project focuses on green hydrogen. His team has discovered a new class of materials that can make water electrolysers more efficient and longer-lasting, which could help bring down the cost of green hydrogen production. Robert Passier's project focuses on drug and target discovery for heart disease. His team works with miniature engineered heart chambers, grown from human stem cells, that can actually pump fluid and generate clinically relevant data about heart function. This could make the discovery and evaluation of new therapies for heart disease more accurate and predictive. Both grants help researchers take promising scientific findings a step closer to real-world application. Congratulations to Christoph Baeumer and Robert Passier. #utwente
