𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐭 𝐓𝐰𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐢𝐥𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐥-𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐨𝐚𝐭 Solar Boat Twente is now Surge Twente: a team of students from the University of Twente and Saxion. They are building something new: a hydrofoiling boat powered by methanol, named Eclipse. It is a big step away from the solar boats the team was known for. But there is a clear reason behind it: shipping has a major emissions challenge, and Surge Twente wants to explore what role methanol could play in making the sector more sustainable. Just as important: they plan to share what they learn with partners, students and the maritime industry. Good luck at the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge from 8 to 11 July.
