Can wearable technology and personalized coaching help older cancer survivors sleep better? Researchers Rhonda Winegar and Zhaoli Liu in UTA's College of Nursing and Health Innovation are studying whether wearable sleep-tracking devices paired with weekly telehealth coaching can improve sleep health among older cancer survivors. The project aims to identify effective, non-drug approaches to improving sleep while providing healthcare providers with better tools to support cancer survivorship. Researchers also hope the telehealth model could expand access to sleep care for patients in rural and underserved communities while helping guide future research on wearable health technology and cancer survivorship.
