A new partnership between UTS and NSW Health is helping to expand the Indigenous genetic counselling workforce. The NSW Health Indigenous Genetic Counselling Scholarship, launched this year by the UTS Graduate School of Health and fully funded by NSW Health, will support an Indigenous health professional to undertake the UTS Master of Genetic Counselling. It helps remove financial barriers to postgraduate study and improves access for students in regional and remote communities. 💬 “Through this scholarship, we hope to increase Indigenous participation in genetic counselling and broaden access to culturally safe care for Indigenous people and communities,” says Dr Lucinda Freeman, Head of Discipline, Genetic Counselling at UTS.
