The University of Sydney has received a $12.6 million bequest from the pioneering entomologist Professor Aola Richards to establish the Sydney Insect Hub. Professor Richards was the first woman in New Zealand to earn a PhD in biology and spent decades at UNSW advancing research in biodiversity. Her extraordinary gift will support the next generation of entomologists and drive research that will help protect ecosystems and sustainable agriculture.
