The University of Sydney has strengthened its partnership with Indonesia through a new Sponsored Student Scholarship Agreement with the Indonesian Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MoHEST). The agreement will support Indonesian students to undertake undergraduate and postgraduate study at Sydney, particularly in priority STEM fields aligned with Indonesia’s national development goals. Under the partnership, the University will contribute 20% towards tuition fees, with remaining tuition fees as well as a stipend and other associated expenses to be provided by MoHEST. "With established strengths in research and education across these fields, we’re well placed to support students to return home with the skills and expertise that advance Indonesia’s national interests”, says Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Mark Scott. The visit also brought together more than 300 alumni and partners in Jakarta, highlighting the strength of the University’s community and connections across the region.
