Reading University Boat Club make history at Henley Royal Regatta Congratulations to Reading University Boat Club who this weekend became the first winners of both The Princess of Wales Challenge Cup and Queen Victoria Challenge Trophy – two of three new women’s sculling events introduced for 2026 at the world-famous Henley Royal Regatta. With a third win as part of a composite crew with Leander Club, Reading achieved its first Henley medals in 40 years. This weekend’s incredible performance at Henley is the latest achievement in what has already been an exceptional year for RUBC, with the club coming first at the British Universities and Colleges Sport Regatta in May with a record 30 medals, including 15 golds.
