Farming Minister visits Reading to see agrifood research in action The University of Reading welcomed Dame Angela Eagle DBE MP, Minister of State for Food Security and Rural Affairs, to Sonning Farm as part of the launch of the UK Government’s new Land Use Framework. During the visit, the Minister saw how Reading researchers are developing nature-friendly farming methods that support food security, improve farm productivity and restore biodiversity. Hosted by Professor Parveen Yaqoob, alongside colleagues from THE SCHOOL OF AGRICULTURE, POLICY AND DEVELOPMENT (SAPD) at the University of Reading, the visit highlighted Reading’s long-standing expertise in agriculture, food and environmental research.
