At Reading, research isn’t just shaping the future of food. It’s already on the menu. Our campus food menus are informed directly by University of Reading research, bringing together chefs and academics to deliver food that is more nutritious, more sustainable and grounded in evidence. This sector-leading work sits within the Menus of Change University Research Collaborative, a global initiative championing healthy, sustainable food systems - with Reading's Dining Services team playing a pioneering role in the UK. From increasing the use of pulses to improve nutrition, to designing dishes that encourage healthier choices and reduce waste, this is a practical demonstration of how research can be translated at scale. It is also a clear example of our Agrifood Futures strategy in action. Connecting research, education and real-world impact across one of the most critical challenges of our time.
