This Earth Day, we’re celebrating how our campuses are supporting biodiversity and wellbeing in simple, meaningful ways. At our Greenlands campus, colleagues at Henley Business School have been enhancing the Wild Garden with new trees, shrubs, bird boxes and a wildlife-friendly water source, thanks to funding from the Centenary Project Grant Scheme. Together, these additions are creating habitats for birds and pollinators, supporting biodiversity along the Thames, and offering a peaceful space for staff and students to connect with nature. From early spring blossoms to autumn colour, the garden is already becoming a place to pause, reflect and recharge, with nature at its heart. As we mark 100 years of the University of Reading, projects like this show how local actions can contribute to a more sustainable future.
