Congratulations to Krupa Patel, M3, who was recently named Graduate Student of the Year at the Michigan Difference Student Leadership Awards! Selected from across all University of Michigan graduate programs, this award recognizes Krupa’s outstanding commitment to academic excellence, leadership, and service. As a third-year medical student, Krupa has made an impact across multiple communities. She developed an undergraduate mentorship pipeline for orthopaedic surgery, served as the National Medical Student President of the Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society, and coached Special Olympics volleyball. Additionally, she founded Medicine in Motion, which works to combat medical burnout through fitness. “I’m incredibly grateful for this honor,” said Patel. “It’s a reminder that leadership is about the communities we build and the support we provide to one another.”
