Ashley Donald, MD, received the James E. Rebel Award during the 2026 Convocation Ceremony on Friday, April 24, 2026. She was chosen by her classmates for her dedication and enthusiasm for learning medicine and personal sensitivity toward patients, fellow students and others. She shares these characteristics with James E. Rebel, for whom the award is named. He was a medical student from the charter class who passed away after an auto accident during his senior year. Each year, this award is presented at the Convocation Ceremony, rather than the Senior Awards Ceremony, and is a surprise to the winner.
