Guelph-Humber alum Tyler Mac-Fung (Media & Communication Studies, Class of 2025) has dedicated more than half his life to lion dancing – a traditional Chinese dance form that’s rooted in martial arts, featuring stunning lion costumes. Tyler dances with YMT Lion Dance 加拿大義武堂醒獅團 and runs its social media. He’s combining his media knowledge with culture and passion. “Lion dance is special because it has always meant something to me. It’s where I get to spend time with people I really enjoy being around,” he says. He also explored culture through a social media lens during his travels abroad to Europe and Asia. The summer after graduation, Tyler documented his adventures on socials to explore who he is as a creator.
