FI/EN: Dance Your PhD -kilpailun Biologia-kategorian voitto UEFiin! 🎉 Väitöskirjatutkija Laura Ihalainen on voittanut Science-lehden järjestämän Dance Your PhD -kilpailun Biologia-kategorian teoksella "The BREM-dance”. Kilpailun periaatteena on rakentaa tanssivideo, joka kuvaa osallistujan omaa väitöskirjatyötä. Ihalaisen väitöskirja "Quantifying the benefits and cost-effectiveness of Real-Ear Measurements (REM) for hearing aid fitting" tutkii erilaisia kuulokojeiden säätötapoja ja niiden vaikutusta potilaan kuulonvaraiseen suoriutumiseen sekä tyytyväisyyteen. Ihalainen työskentelee UEFissa kliinisenä opettajana ja KYSillä korva-, nenä- ja kurkkutautien erikoislääkärinä. Laura esiintyy videolla yhdessä edustamansa Collusion Danceteam tanssiryhmän kanssa. Onnea! The idea of the competition is to create a dance video that illustrates the participant’s own PhD research. Ihalainen’s dissertation "Quantifying the benefits and cost-effectiveness of Real-Ear Measurements (REM) for hearing aid fitting” examines different hearing‑aid fitting methods and their effects on the patient’s auditory performance and satisfaction. Ihalainen works at UEF as a clinical lecturer and at Kuopio University Hospital (KYS) as a specialist in otorhinolaryngology.
