When HRH The Princess of Wales visited UEL last month to launch The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood's Centre for Early Childhood's Foundations for Life guide, it sparked an important conversation about the role that universities can play in improving lifelong outcomes for children. Writing for Times Higher Education, UEL Vice-Chancellor & President Professor Amanda J. Broderick and Christian Guy, Executive Director of the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, argue that universities must embed a stronger understanding of early social and emotional development across education, workforce training and research. Higher education leaders from around the UK came together at UEL during HRH's visit, pledging to equip the next generation of early years professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to support children's development from the earliest years.
