UC students are helping power NZ’s success on the international sporting stage 🏀 This past summer, UC Bachelor of Sport students supported our national 3x3 basketball programme through camps hosted on campus. Around 15–20 students contributed across performance analysis, logistics and operations, working alongside UC lecturer & NZ Men’s Basketball Coach Piet Van Hasselt. That programme is now delivering results on the world stage: 🏆 Asia Cup champions (Singapore) 🌍 World Cup qualification secured 📍 Qualified for the 2026 World Cup, 2027 World Cup and the 2026 Commonwealth Games Recent UC graduate Aidan Tonge is the NZ 3x3 Men’s Captain, while final-year Bachelor of Sport student Mitch Spencer played a key role as team manager in Singapore, building on his UC internship with Basketball New Zealand. A big thank you to the UC students and staff who have contributed to this success over the past five years. UC Health
