There’s just one week left to submit your applications to the 2026 Pathways to Politics for Women program. The Pathways to Politics program has led 95 participants all the way to Parliament, and hundreds more have been given a leg up when it comes to running for a seat — including Dani Hunterford JP, who ran as a Greens candidate for the federal seat of Fenner in 2025. “Pathways to Politics equipped me with a tool belt full of different skills and strategies that I applied to my campaign. It’s an incredibly overwhelming and difficult experience, so having frameworks for different situations was so helpful,” she said. “Media engagement, for example, it’s not something I do every day, so it’s a tricky thing to go into. But the Pathways to Politics program equipped me with strategies to help me present myself the best way I can.” The award‑winning political training program, which has run for more than a decade, is offered free here at our UC campus, with the only application requirement being a drive to make change in your community as a political candidate. Dani was inspired to join the program by the incredible women and alumni who had previously taken part. “I really admired how they all supported each other, regardless of political background. This program is an incredible opportunity for so many reasons. I was so grateful to have met many like‑minded people, and the skills I developed through the program were so useful during my time as a candidate." “I felt more supported as a woman in politics because of it.” Apply by 30 April via 👉 https://bit.ly/4c9bgnO #UniCBR #PathwaysToPolitics
