A giant piece of UC history is coming back to life 📡 For the past three years, a team of staff, students and community members has been restoring UC's 10-metre radio telescope – a heritage instrument that has sat silent on campus for almost 20 years. Originally installed at the Orroral Valley Satellite Monitoring Station before finding a home at UC in the 1990s, the telescope is being reactivated as a space for learning, creativity and community. "We want people to know that UC10 is a living machine again," says Associate Professor Alison Wain, University of Canberra. From engineering and robotics to art, storytelling and astronomy, the project is creating new opportunities for people to connect with one of the University's most unique landmarks.
