Cambridge is proud of its student first responders who volunteer with the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust 🚑 The medical students are often the first on the scene of an emergency before an ambulance arrives providing vital care for people who are often confused or distressed. The University of Cambridge’s First Responder Society has a membership which regularly gives up its time to assist the region’s ambulance service with emergency calls. The student volunteers, who are usually in the 4th or 5th year of a medical degree, will often be the first on the scene providing care to anyone who’s suddenly fallen ill.
