Peter Haddawy, a professor in the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at Mahidol University (Thailand) Mahidol University, has been appointed as a Research Ambassador for the University of Bremen. With this honorary title, Haddawy is now an ambassador for the University of Bremen. Research ambassadors are dedicated representatives who build bridges between continents, cultures, and academic disciplines. Since 2015, the University of Bremen has appointed fourteen research alumni as research ambassadors to support the university and its research efforts, academic programs, and activities worldwide. Today, eleven of them are active in the network. They facilitate visits and stays for students and researchers alike, and their hosts at the University of Bremen provide local support and integration into the research community. Haddawy has long been associated with the University of Bremen, first coming to the university for a research stay in 2016. He is now an honorary professor of medical computer science at the university. Since 2018, he has also served as director of the newly established joint research laboratory for medical informatics, the Mahidol-Bremen Medical Informatics Research Unit. A strategic partnership was established between the two universities in 2021, and Haddawy serves on the Mahidol-Bremen Board, which continues to foster and expand the partnership.
