🚀🤝 UAF Delegation Explores National Innovation Ecosystem to Accelerate Agritech, Research Commercialization & Technology Transfer A high-level delegation from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF), led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zulfiqar Ali, visited leading innovation and technology institutions in Islamabad and Haripur to strengthen collaboration in research commercialization, technology transfer, startup development, agritech innovation, and industry-academia partnerships. The delegation included Director ORIC Dr. Sultan Habibullah Khan, Executive Director Endowment Funds Secretariat Dr. Babar Shahbaz, Director Business Incubation Center Dr. Hammad Badar, Director Planning & Development Mr. Irfan Abbas, Director Farms Dr. Muhammad Aslam, Dr. Muhammad Naveed, and Deputy Treasurer Mr. Asim Raheel. The visit commenced at the Special Technology Zones Authority - STZA, where the delegation met Chairman Mr. Azfar Manzoor, Executive Director STZA/Member Zones Mr. Aamer Saleemi, and senior officials. Prof. Dr. Zulfiqar Ali highlighted UAF’s achievements in research, innovation, and the development of the UAF Agritech Park, which has already been notified by STZA. STZA appreciated UAF’s vision and reaffirmed the strategic significance of the Agritech Park as a future hub for agritech innovation. The delegation also visited the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), where Dr. Rizwan Riaz, Pro-Rector Research, Innovation & Commercialization, briefed the team on NUST’s innovation ecosystem and Technology Park. Both institutions explored collaboration in startup incubation, AI-driven agriculture, research commercialization, Twin Labs, student internships, joint research projects, and innovation ecosystem development. At the National Aerospace Science & Technology Park (NASTP), the delegation received an overview of advanced technology initiatives, innovation programs, and the GreenAI Project, gaining valuable insights into technology park development and innovation-led growth. On the second day, the delegation visited the National Radio Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC), Haripur, to learn about indigenous technology development, industrial innovation, and commercialization models. The visit concluded at the Pak-Austria Fachhochschule: Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology (PAF-IAST), Haripur, where discussions focused on applied research, practice-oriented education, industry linkages, and entrepreneurship.
