π§βππ UCD alumnus Niall Norton appointed as Chief Executive Officer of TechIreland. A graduate of the UCD Lochlann Quinn School of Business with a Bachelor of Commerce (BComm), Niall has enjoyed a highly successful career in the technology and telecommunications sectors, including serving as CFO of O2 Ireland and CEO of Dublin-headquartered telecoms software company Openet. As CEO of TechIreland, he will lead the not-for-profit organisation as it strengthens its role as an independent source of data and intelligence on Irelandβs technology ecosystem and supports the countryβs ambitions in AI transformation. TechIreland tracks more than 14,500 companies across the Irish technology sector, including start-ups, scale-ups, investors, multinationals and support organisations. Through its open-access data platform, research and industry programmes, it works to map and promote the ecosystem, strengthen connections and provide the evidence needed to support informed policy and the creation of sustainable technology jobs. Reflecting on his time at UCD in a UCD Alumni interview, Niall described his BComm as the foundation of his career: βCuriosity is probably the best lesson I took away from UCD.β π https://lnkd.in/e-duBGib Many congratulations to Niall on his new role.
