💙💛 The University community is deeply saddened by the passing of author Gordon Snell, the husband of the late Irish writer Maeve Binchy, and supporter of the UCD Maeve Binchy Travel Award. An accomplished children’s author, scriptwriter and supporter of emerging writers, Gordon played a key role in establishing the award honouring Maeve Binchy, his late wife, a UCD graduate and recipient of the UCD Foundation Day Medal. Sponsored by the Binchy/Snell family, the UCD Maeve Binchy Travel Award, inaugurated in 2014, commemorates Maeve’s love of travel and celebrated creative writing.
