💙💛 University College Dublin is playing a leading role in Una.Via, the next phase of the Una Europa alliance, following the award of €9 million in Erasmus+ funding to support deeper collaboration across eleven leading European universities. The announcement comes as Ireland hosts the 4th European Universities Initiative Forum during its Presidency of the Council of the European Union, where UCD President Professor Orla Feely joined university leaders and policymakers to discuss the next chapter of transnational university collaboration. Designed as a bridge to the future, Una.Via will move Una Europa beyond project-based collaboration towards lasting institutional integration, creating new opportunities for students, researchers and professional staff to learn, teach, innovate and work together across borders. UCD will lead the ‘Data and People Exchange’ element of the project, piloting new physical, blended and virtual mobility opportunities at universities, and co-lead on ‘Impact and Dissemination’, helping to ensure that the alliance's achievements inform the future direction of higher education across Europe. Una.Via will embed lasting structures across all eleven partner universities, and will include a project accelerator for bottom-up staff and student initiatives, a new skills-focused Training Academy, and stronger shared governance. It also aims to position Una Europa strongly for the European Commission's next long-term funding cycle.
