👉 A study led by researchers of the Instituto de Investigación en Cambio Global de la URJC and Pace University (US) shows how trout can help us understand the impact of climate change on river ecosystems. ◻️ The research is based on an open-access database with information from more than 2.000 brown trout populations in French rivers, including data from over 300.000 individuals and their body size.   ◼️ The findings reveal how rising water temperatures are linked to changes in trout metabolism, offering clear evidence of how climate change affects freshwater ecosystems. ◻️ By focusing on a well-known species in rivers, the study highlights the importance of considering multiple environmental drivers simultaneously when studying the effects of climate change in natural ecosystems and supports the need for better river management and conservation strategies.    https://lnkd.in/eX_74_Yt #URJC #study #climatechange #trout #YoSoyURJC
