𝐌𝐢𝐱𝐞𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐬 At Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, researchers are advancing the use of mixed reality as a complementary tool in physiotherapy for people with multiple sclerosis. This approach combines physical and virtual environments in real time to support the rehabilitation of upper limb impairments, a common but underexplored aspect of the disease. Through the VIRTUAL-DOMUS project, the research team is evaluating how simulated daily-life activities in immersive environments, together with conventional therapy, can improve functionality, autonomy and quality of life.
