"I chose the University of Turku because of its strong commitment to sustainable futures, and I have found it an inspiring place to work—supportive colleagues, an open research culture, and a community that values curiosity and societal relevance. Coming from Nigeria, I grew up witnessing the environmental and social costs of oil exploration, which shaped my desire to contribute to meaningful change. After completing my Master’s in Finance at the University of Oulu, I have pursued research to understand sustainability and how financial systems influence corporate impacts. My motivation is also rooted in the social inequalities I observed across Africa, driven by both external exploitation and internal governance challenges. These experiences fuel my commitment to advancing SDG-related issues through research and teaching.
