Today, we are honoring the legacy of American politician and diplomat, Carl B. Stokes. He became the first African American mayor elected in a major U.S. city in November 1967. During his two terms as mayor, Stokes introduced a number of urban revitalization programs, some of which consistently highlighted issues that disproportionately affected inner-city communities. He later became a news anchorman, judge and United States Ambassador. https://lnkd.in/entYMvp
