Day nine ends with a Latin American perspective on subnational diplomacy. Editor-in-chief of Paradiplomacia.org and Senior Manager of Operations & Impact Scale at the International Potato Center (CIP) Horacio Rodríguez Vázquez shared experiences and lessons learned from different countries in Latin America working towards the construction of an environmental paradiplomacy agenda. UNU-CRIS Associate Research Fellow and Head of Promotion and Exchange of Regional Social Policy Department at MERCOSUR Nahuel Oddone explored cross-border paradiplomacy in Latin America, discussing the different approaches of subnational studies in International Relations, the state of paradiplomacy during COVID-19 and the conformation of the diplomatic epistemic community.
