We recently acknowledged and thanked Professor Peter Hoj AC as he concluded his five year term as Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Adelaide. Professor Høj has been an exemplary Vice Chancellor. His experience and leadership guided the University through the impacts of COVID 19, strengthened our financial position, and oversaw meaningful cultural change that will continue to shape the Adelaide University we are building together. Under his leadership, we saw improvements in the quality of our students' experience, research capacity and global standing, with the University entering the QS World University Rankings Top 100 for the first time at 82nd. His capacity to support and bring out the best in all those with whom he works, his humanity and his respect for individuals from all walks of life, mark Professor Høj as a true leader.   Professor Høj has long advocated for the creation of a new university in South Australia, and his contributions to the establishment of Adelaide University were pivotal. In years to come, as we look with pride at our thriving, world-class institution, none of us will have greater justification for that pride than Professor Høj. Thank you Professor Høj, for your service and your leadership.
