Just 20 months after completing her PhD at UNE, historian Dr Molly Northcott has achieved something many scholars spend years pursuing: her manuscript has been picked up by prestigious British publisher Routledge. Her new book, Agents of the Invisible World, explores the unsettling role children played in witchcraft trials in England and New England. “People don’t realise how often young children were involved in witchcraft trials,” Dr Northcott says. “Those children were not just innocent and passive. Many were aggressive in their denunciations and caused the executions of scores of innocent victims." Dr Northcott researched hundreds of case studies, while working, and says the road to publication was "a hard slog, but it has been so worth it". Our congratulations to her 👏 The full story: https://lnkd.in/dm2ht4zP #ProudToBeUNE #HistoricalResearch #AcademicPublishing
