Professor Bill McClymont taught generations of UNE students the power of systems thinking: that great outcomes happen when many parts work together. Now, that philosophy lives on through the McClymont Scholarship, after a group of UNE Rural Science graduates, alumni and former staff pooled their resources to honour their pioneering educator. The scholarship is helping students like Charlotte Patterson pursue a future in agriculture. For this first-year Rural Science student from Central Queensland, the funds are easing the pressure of rent, food and study costs while she focuses on her degree. It’s a powerful reminder that collective giving creates real impact and that, together, we can change lives.
