🌟 Celebrating Student Success at the School of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Lancashire 🌟 We’re delighted to congratulate Chawalpat Siripanich on being awarded the Medical Student Intercalated Degree Award by the British Association of Dermatologists — an exceptionally competitive national award presented to only two medical students across the UK and Ireland each year. This prestigious award includes £5,000 in research funding, which, alongside existing NIHR support, will enable Chawalpat to further advance his work on melanoma detection using the loop‑mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) platform. It will also allow him to explore new research avenues within this exciting project. Chawalpat has expressed sincere gratitude to his supervisors, Professor Ihtesham u Rehman, Dr Mariana Moreira , Dr Philip Houldsworth, and Professor Ruth Board, for their invaluable guidance throughout the development of this research. He also extends thanks to Professor Faisal Ali for his mentorship, academic support, and opportunities for international dissemination that strengthened his application, and to Dr Jennifer Macdowall for kindly endorsing it. We are incredibly proud of the dedication, ambition, and excellence Chawalpat continues to demonstrate throughout his MBBS degree and intercalated MRes here at the University of Lancashire.
