🌍 One decision, millions of lives saved Yesterday, 14 June, we celebrated World Blood Donor Day, a reminder of the extraordinary impact that one simple act can have. 🩸 Did you know that approximately 118.5 million units of blood are donated globally every year*? That translates to roughly 53 million liters of blood given to save others. 🩸 That is a volume that would fill roughly 21 Olympic sized swimming pools. Even though it sounds like a massive number, the need for blood is constant, and many countries still face critical shortages. Today, this global awareness day reminds us that no matter where we come from or the color of our skin, the same precious fluid flows through our veins. ❤️ 📊 Fast Fact: According to the World Health Organization (WHO), nearly 40% of these donations come from high-income countries, which account for only 16% of the world’s population.
