🏆 Another achievement for the Materials Characterization Lab! The paper "Numerical Prediction of Crack Initiation and Growth in Case-Carburized Gears under Bending Fatigue" received the Runner Up Award in the Design and Engineering category at the #ISIEA2026 conference. The study presents a numerical method for predicting crack initiation and propagation in case-carburized gears under bending fatigue. By estimating when, where and how cracks develop, the proposed approach provides valuable insights into the expected service life of mechanical components, supporting the design of more reliable and durable transmission systems.
