Most refugees want to return to their countries, but home is often out of reach due to ongoing insecurity. 4.4 million refugees were able to return home in 2025 - although many returned under adverse conditions or encountered extremely fragile situations. More than anything, displaced people need peace so they can return home safely, voluntarily and with dignity.
