Hot classrooms make it hard for students to learn. During this week’s heat wave, some students are experiencing air-conditioned classrooms at school for the first time, while far too many are still learning in stifling heat. At Ida Public Schools, a rural district in Michigan, middle and high school students have had cooler, healthier classrooms since last fall, when the district completed major HVAC upgrades across two schools using ground-source heat pumps — all without relying on an available capital budget. They also secured a $3.6 million energy tax credit from the IRS for the projects. Do your classrooms need cooling? Check out this new case study to explore strategies that can help your district modernize its buildings, improve student health and safety, and lower costs: https://lnkd.in/ejf2sS-y Are you involved in a ground-source heat pump project at your school? We’d love to hear from you. We’re looking to develop additional case studies to help other districts take advantage of the opportunity to modernize their buildings with this modern, efficient heating and cooling technology and earn energy tax credits to lower costs.
