In Antananarivo today, UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Acting Secretary-General Pedro Manuel Moreno met with Madagascar’s President Michael Randrianirina. Together, they launched a new UNCTAD rapid assessment of value addition and diversification within and beyond the country’s critical energy transition minerals value chain. They also discussed how UNCTAD can support Madagascar’s national development priorities. A key focus is implementing the assessment’s recommendations. The objective: to help translate the country’s productive potential into concrete investments, productive jobs, stronger industrial capabilities and sustainable development gains.
