This #CleftandCraniofacialAwarenessMonth, we reshare the story of Nolan. Nolan's parents adopted him from China when he was 1.5 years old. He was born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate, along with other medical complexities. His mom, Katie Krist, says specialty providers across UNC Children’s have helped him grow and achieve his milestones. “As a parent of a child with craniofacial differences, you have to deal with the aspect of your child looking different. But the team at UNC Children’s makes it known that your child is beautiful, unique, well-cared for and accepted. It’s so special to know we’ve always got such a great team in our corner,” Krist says.
