Celebrating innovation at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. 🎉 ⛏️ Two UNC Charlotte Klein College of Science faculty members have been named to the 2026 Class of Senior Members of the National Academy of Inventors. This distinction recognizes academic inventors whose work delivers real‑world impact through patents, commercialization, and mentorship. 🧬 Pinku Mukherjee, Irwin Belk Distinguished Professor of Cancer Research, is honored for her pioneering work in translational oncology, including the invention of the OncoTAb antibody that led to early‑detection blood tests for breast cancer and the founding of OncoTAb, Inc. 🌱 Matthew W. Parrow, professor of biological sciences and associate dean in the Klein College of Science, is recognized for advancing microbiology and biotechnology solutions that address environmental and public health challenges from sustainable biomass innovations to award‑winning biochromic window technology now being tested on campus. With these inductions at the national meeting to be held in June, KCOS celebrates seven NAI Senior Members, underscoring UNC Charlotte’s growing strength in research, innovation, and societal impact.
