Now, University of Massachusetts Amherst food scientists have invented a new smartphone-based technology, known as BactiSee, to help meet the need for controlling the transmission of bacterial risks. Described by its inventors as something "like a COVID test crossed with a smartphone," BactiSee provides a direct and reliable measurement of bacterial contamination, with results available in about five minutes.
