Another night of Russian terror. Eleven people, including a child, were injured in Kyiv during Russia’s overnight attack on July 11. Homes, office buildings and a theological seminary were damaged. Russia also attacked the Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv and Chernihiv regions. The aggressor state launched more than 120 drones and 12 missiles overnight, half of them ballistic. Most of the drones and missiles were intercepted, but not the ballistic missiles. Air defence cannot wait. Ukraine expects its partners to deliver on the support agreed at the NATO Summit. We need rapid progress on the promised Patriot systems, licences for their production, and a joint European anti-ballistic defence project. Protecting lives must remain the top priority.
