The British and Indian armed forces are working closely together to learn from each other during a time of rapid transformation to meet contemporary challenges. The Assistant Chief of the General Staff, Major General Jon Swift, hosted an Indian Army delegation led by Major General Akaash Johar in London last week for the annual Army to Army staff talks. The talks agreed a strong programme of cooperation over the next 12 months, with enduring exchanges in professional military education, tactical training courses and exercises, and close cooperation on complex land weapon systems demonstrating an ever-closer partnership. The engagement also included a visit to the premier British Army Land Warfare Centre in Warminster and to the leading defence corporation MBDA in Stevenage. Cooperation on defence and security is a key pillar of our joint work under Vision 2035 as part of our common commitment to peace.
