Iconic British brand Norton Motorcycles has marked the roll-out of the first Atlas models at TVS Motor Company's Hosur manufacturing facility in India – combining British design and engineering capability with Indian manufacturing excellence. With the UK-India Free Trade Agreement coming into effect from 15 July, we will unlock even more opportunities for deeper supply chain integration, bringing benefits to businesses and consumers alike. We’re making trade cheaper, quicker, and easier for British and Indian businesses. And we’re bringing consumers cheaper prices and greater choice. For automotives specifically, Indian tariffs of up to 110% will come down to 10%, under a quota. Since acquiring Norton Motorcycles in 2020, TVS Motors has continued to strengthen R&D, manufacturing, and its long-term presence in the British automotive ecosystem. The company has also committed to a further £250 million investment over the next three years, alongside the creation of around 300 jobs. Deputy High Commissioner to Chennai, Sutapa Choudhury joined the roll-out ceremony in Hosur to celebrate the UK and India riding into a new era of opportunity together. The Atlas officially launches globally this month.
